Biography
As senior vice president and general manager of the Desktop Division for Citrix, Gordon is leading the charge towards a new simplified model for IT. This new model radically simplifies computing for millions of users, delivering desktops and applications as an on-demand service to any user, in any location on any device.
The Desktop Division includes business units prime for user self service, desktop and application virtualization, networking and security. Each of these businesses has attained a top 3 market position on a stand-alone basis. More importantly for Citrix customers, when used as an end-to-end solution this truly represents a best in class, IT as a service solution.
Gordon joined Citrix in 2004, through the acquisition of Net6, Inc., and helped ramp Citrix to a #1 position in Secure Remote Access. Since then he has held a number of senior general management roles across multiple Citrix products and business units. Prior to Net6, Gordon held senior management positions in venture-backed Networking start-ups. In more than a decade with Nortel, he had postings in Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Australia and the United States, ultimately holding general management positions in the Enterprise and Wireless businesses.
Gordon was named one of the Top 100 Voices of the IP Communications Industry, by Internet Telephony magazine for his leadership in the Voice over IP market. He currently serves on the board of directors of Vyatta, a leader in open networking and Kabira, a leader in memory-based transaction computing.
He holds an M.B.A. from IMD in Lausanne, Switzerland and a B.A. in Commercial Studies from the University of Western Ontario in Canada.
